Fee comparison
| Perps maker | 0.020%† | 0.000%* |
| Perps taker | 0.050%† | 0.020%* |
| Spot maker | 0.100% | 0.000% |
| Spot taker | 0.100% | 0.050% |
Rates shown are published base-tier estimates and may change, so always confirm on the exchange. Maker = limit orders that add liquidity (cheaper); taker = market orders that remove it.
† Gate.io: The model uses the selected market only: spot volume counts in full and ordinary USDT perpetual volume at 0.4 times notional. USD1 contracts and other products have different weights. A flat GT discount is only modeled at the entry spot tier.
* MEXC: Published UI base is 0% maker / 0.02% taker as of 31 Aug 2026. That pair is not a universal schedule. MEXC's fee page says rates may vary with platform events or user region; check your trade history. The 25 May 2026 BTCUSDT, BTCUSDC, ETHUSDT, and ETHUSDC update is region-gated. API futures use a separate 0.06% maker / 0.08% taker book that takes precedence over website and app rates.
Which is cheaper?
At $100k in monthly volume with an even maker/taker split, MEXC costs $10.00/month, about $25.00 less on perpetual futures. On spot, MEXC costs $25.00/month, about $75.00 less. These examples use published entry-tier rates before funding, volume tiers, maker rebates, and native-token discounts.

Current BTC perpetual funding
| Exchange | Rate per 8h | Simple annualized rate |
|---|---|---|
| Gate.io | +0.0100% | +11.0% |
| MEXC | -0.0026% | -2.8% |
At this snapshot, MEXC has the lower recorded funding rate for a long position. Positive funding usually means longs pay shorts; negative funding means shorts pay longs. Rates can change before the next settlement. A missing cell means FeeEdge has no BTC perpetual snapshot for that venue, not a zero rate.
