Calculate your effective fee rate from a CSV
Effective fee rate is net trading fees ÷ executed notional, in the same currency. Net fees are debits minus rebates. Do this per fee currency. The table below is a labeled fictitious sample, not a customer file.
Fictitious sample (7 fills)
Period label: 01-07 Jun 2024. All commissions in USDT. Positive commission is a fee paid. Negative is a rebate. Zero is a fill with no commission in this sample.
| id | symbol | notional (USDT) | commission | role |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1001 | BTCUSDT | 6,500 | 3.25 | taker |
| 1002 | ETHUSDT | 7,000 | 3.5 | taker |
| 1003 | BTCUSDT | 3,260 | 0.652 | maker |
| 1004 | SOLUSDT | 3,200 | 1.6 | taker |
| 1005 | BTCUSDT | 5,184 | -0.2 | maker |
| 1006 | ETHUSDT | 5,280 | 0 | taker |
| 1007 | BTCUSDT | 7,860 | 3.93 | taker |
The arithmetic
- Sum notionals: 38,284 USDT.
- Sum debit fees: 12.932 USDT. Sum rebate credits: 0.2 USDT.
- Net trading fees: 12.932 − 0.2 = 12.732 USDT.
- Effective rate: 12.732 ÷ 38,284 = 0.0333%.
Per-currency rule: if any commission asset is not USDT, do not mix it into this USDT rate. Convert only when you have an explicit price for that asset at fill time. FeeEdge's audit keeps totals by currency instead of inventing a conversion.
Maker vs taker check on this sample: advertised Regular Binance USD-M is often entered as 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker. Fill 1001 is 3.25 ÷ 6,500 = 0.05% (taker). Fill 1003 is 0.652 ÷ 3,260 = 0.02% (maker). Fill 1005 is a 0.20 USDT rebate on 5,184 USDT notional. Fill 1006 paid 0 on 5,280 USDT, so the period effective rate is below a pure 0.05% taker book.
What this number is not
- Not funding, spread, or withdrawal cost.
- Not a VIP tier by itself. Compare it with the rates on your account.
- Not proof of overcharge. Rounding, BNB payment, and promos can move a fill away from the advertised Regular book.
